Background

Since passing the North Carolina State Bar Exam in 2008, Matt gained a wide range of experience in various legal areas. Since 2010, family law has been Matt’s sole concentration. Matt has extensive trial experience in child custody, child support, alimony, post separation support, division of assets and debts, domestic violence, and emergency hearings. Matt has litigated cases in most of the surrounding counties, including Wake, Johnston, Lee, Harnett, Moore, Chatham, Durham, Franklin, Halifax, Wayne, Orange, and Cumberland Counties.

What is most important to Matt in the practice of law is helping clients achieve their goals and obtaining the best result possible for them. Upon their initial meeting with Matt, clients will be given clear and concise options to move forward with their lives. No two representations are the same and clients can expect Matt to discern subtle differences in each client’s situation to put their best case forward. Potential clients will have access to Matt at nearly all times through email, which he receives directly on his phone. After normal business hours, Matt will assist his clients during a custody emergency, a domestic violence incident and in any other similar circumstance. 

As part of his commitment to his clients, Matt believes it is vitally important to guide them in the moment through the situation while they are on the phone. Matt likes to be readily accessible to his clients to help them during what is often a very difficult time in their lives.
