Background

Kristen was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. In 2016, Kristen graduated from East Carolina University with a B.S. in Political Science and History with honors. She moved back to Raleigh after graduation where she enrolled in Campbell University School of Law and graduated in 2020. During her time at Campbell, Kristen interned at Marshall & Taylor, PLLC, a family law firm, where she developed skills that she still utilizes today. During her time there Kristen drafted discovery and pleadings, conducted legal research, wrote legal memorandums of law, and assisted with other daily tasks at the firm. Additionally, Kristen studied abroad at The University of Cambridge the summer after her first year of law school wherein she studied the English Legal System, Comparative Criminal Procedure and the European Union.

Immediately after graduation, Kristen was selected as the Wallace Public Service Fellow at Campbell University School of Law for the 2020-21 school year, where she worked with the Pro Bono and Student Life office to promote Pro Bono Service at the Law School. In this role, she mentored law students in different pro bono projects, assisted student leaders with their projects, and was an active member of the North Carolina Pro Bono Public Service Committee. Additionally, during her time in this role, she advocated for more student involvement in Pro Bono work, as well as meeting with leaders at the Law School to improve the Pro Bono Program at Campbell.

In August 2021, Kristen began working as an Associate Attorney at Dobson Law Firm, PLLC, where she was completely devoted to family law cases. During her time at Dobson Law Firm, Kristen’s litigation skills grew immensely as she assisted clients in matters including child custody/support, divorce, equitable distribution, domestic violence, separation agreements, post-separation support/alimony and more. Kristen has litigated cases in multiple surrounding counties including Wake, Durham, Moore, Harnett, Cumberland, Johnston, Brunswick, Craven, Onslow, Chatham, Vance, Franklin, Wayne, and Lenoir.

Kristen is dedicated to assisting her clients achieve their goals whether it be in the court room or through negotiations. Kristen believes that achieving a client’s goal starts with forming a good client relationship, where the client is given options and the ability to make the decision on how to move forward. Clients can expect Kristen to communicate effectively and be available through telephone and email. Kristen understands that for many clients, this is a very difficult and stressful process, and she works hard to make sure they feel comfortable with her and with their case moving forward.

In her spare time Kristen enjoys spending time with friends and family, cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers and Carolina Hurricanes, and playing soccer. She currently resides in Raleigh with her two beloved cats, Charlie and Binx.
